Stormseal – Australian company takes US market by storm
5 May 2018
Stormseal Industries’ innovative heat shrinking tarpaulin is now being manufactured and distributed in the United States.
Stormseal will allow more residents to return home sooner after a natural disaster, insurance costs will be reduced, communities will recover quicker, and businesses will thrive again.
The alternative to a tarpaulin is highly cost-effective and versatile, for use by emergency responders during insurance claim repairs and in construction zones.
Stormseal is faster, cheaper and easier to install than a tarpaulin, and it is cut and tailored at the worksite.
It is heat cured, increasing the strength of the film and allowing it to fit snugly to the structure without damaging any underlying materials.
It weighs less than one-third of a comparable area of tarpaulin, and requires less than one-eighth of the storage space.
Insurance company Suncorp successfully trialled it on 250 storm-damaged homes, and in 2017 Stormseal was used during Cyclone Debbie.
