Catastrophic weather events – like the tornado that hit Kurnell in December 2015 – are becoming increasingly frequent in Australia and around the world, with consequent soaring economic and social costs. The Kurnell tornado provoked 500 calls to emergency responders, caused major damage to 25 homes and traumatised hundreds of residents. A year later, 10 of the 25 families who were forced to vacate their damaged homes were still living in alternative accommodation.
After seeing the devastating damage to houses and businesses during the 2007 Sydney storm I co-developed Stormseal, a new, unique, plastic technology for weatherproofing damaged buildings. It has multiple advantages over tarps, the traditional alternative.

Stormseal mitigates financial losses and social disruption by preventing further weather damage to properties, and enabling more people to stay in their homes and continue their normal lives while waiting for repairs.
