It was the June 2016 deluge and the second major storm cycle of the year since January. New South Wales, Sydney and parts of Queensland was again drenched by monsoon like rains that just would not stop.
Rockdale real estate agency, W. Herrmann Real Estate, was renting out a local property to a young couple when they called to report that a lot of water was coming through their bedroom ceiling.
The contractor in charge of the works “NSW Building Trade Services” sent their plumber, David Shapiro, of 1-Callplumbing, to check out the water leaks and damage. David immediately saw it was not a job he could immediately help with and the house needed covering urgently as more rain was due, so he contacted Stormseal™.
“I had heard of the product but not seen it and was very impressed at how quickly it was installed and the fact that it protected the house for quite a whilst waiting for an entire roof replacement.”
said David (pictured).
Leonn, Managing Director of NSW Building Trade Services, which has since fixed the roof following settlement, said the storm had blown off roof tiles but as insurance claims don’t go through overnight, it was great that Stormseal could seal the roof and allow the tenants to keep living in the property.
“David told me about Stormseal and how great he had heard it was and he was right, it saved the day and quickly protected the property from the rain that followed. More important was that it allowed the renters to stay in the house saving them the hassle of moving and saving the owners lost rent,” he said.
“Stormseal kept the roof dry and watertight for two months while we waited to get the go ahead to make the repairs. It’s a great product that I am very glad to now know about. We’ll know what to use when the next storm delivers its havoc,” concluded Leonn.
