{"id":8203,"date":"2022-09-15T16:43:23","date_gmt":"2022-09-15T06:43:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stormseal.com\/au\/?p=8203"},"modified":"2023-05-16T10:06:08","modified_gmt":"2023-05-16T00:06:08","slug":"stormseal-a-finalist-in-worlds-top-urban-resiliency-innovations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stormseal.com\/au\/stormseal-a-finalist-in-worlds-top-urban-resiliency-innovations\/","title":{"rendered":"Stormseal a Finalist in World\u2019s Top Urban Resiliency Innovations"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>Stormseal has won the People Choice Award in the East Division of the <a href=\"https:\/\/leadingcities.org\/accelicity\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2022 QBE AcceliCITY Resilience Challenge<\/a>, moving it forward to the grand global final in November.<\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The global program by <a href=\"https:\/\/leadingcities.org\/about\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Leading Cities<\/a>, a global nonprofit driving city resiliency and sustainability, in partnership with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qbe.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">QBE Insurance Group<\/a>, is one of the largest of its kind with its alumni having raised up to $400 million with several deployments in cities to improve the equity, resilience, and safety of urban centers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re delighted Stormseal has been recognised for its immense benefits to cities and communities by keeping them safe after storm damage, said Stormseal founder Matt Lennox. \u201cStormseal is an absolute game changer, especially in cities where hundreds or thousands of homes and business can be damaged by a single weather event.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s finalists were selected from more than 550 companies across 70 countries, based on their innovative solutions to answer cities\u2019 most pressing challenges.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChallenges such as climate change, population density, cyber risk, and pandemics are hastening the need to build thriving, resilient cities and implement new solutions that will change the world,\u201d said Mike Lake, President and CEO of Leading Cities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>AcceliCITY lowers the cost of innovation for startups as well as governments by reorganizing the innovation and implementation cycles for Smart City solutions.
